When using this service from abroad, incoming calls will be free, while outgoing calls will be charged at Rs. 3 per minute. With the launch of the ‘VoWiFi’ service, the company has come up with a plan to provide more convenient and technology-friendly communication services to its customers.
What is VoWiFi
‘VoWiFi’ or Voice over WiFi is a technology that provides users with the facility to use phone calls and SMS services over the WiFi network. Typically, mobile calls are made over cellular networks (such as 2G, 3G, 4G). But ‘VoWiFi’ service enables you to make calls and send SMS over Wi-Fi even in places where there is no mobile network.
If your mobile has a feature that supports ‘VoWiFi’ and the VoLTE service is active, you can make phone calls and send SMS over Wi-Fi instead of your mobile network.
‘VoWiFi’ service makes it possible to connect via Wi-Fi internet even in places with weak mobile tower signals; such as indoors, underground areas or remote places. Even when you are abroad, if you are on a Wi-Fi network, you can make calls and send SMS using Nepal Telecom’s ‘VoWiFi’ service as if you were in Nepal.
