Having to pay to use two factor authentication through Twitter, messages becoming expensive

Kathmandu. Twitter is now going to make the ‘two factor authentication’ feature through messages available only to users who have paid a fee i.e. have purchased a Blue Tick.

In a tweet, the company informed that this rule will be implemented from March 20. The company said, “Only Blue Tick customers of Twitter can use two-factor authentication through messages. This rule will be implemented from March 20.”

Two factor authentication is considered suitable to keep any online account safe. Two-factor authentication can be used on Twitter through messages, authentication apps and security keys.

The company is going to make it a paid feature because people with bad intentions are misusing the two-factor authentication through text messages using phone numbers.

Elon Musk has confirmed that this is true in a question asked by a user on Twitter.
